Tea at the Unicorn Wine Guild

Hello.  My name is Barbara Whitaker and, along with my husband, I am opening a fusion business in southeast Ohio. We will combine a coffee shop, tea room and wine guild into what we believe will be an asset for our small community.  As we are not yet open, I don’t want people wandering aroung looking for us, so that big announcement will come later.  The facility is a major disaster at the moment.  The guys have put in the sewer system – that involved digging 9 feet down by hand to reach the sewer hook-up because the doors were too small for an excavation machine.  And it involved a lot of concrete removal.  My husband spent his spare time this winter removing the warping ceiling tiles (while I learned all sorts of business things and developed the business plan and the promotion plan) and designing the space.  This then went to an architect and inspectors, etc.  We’ve passed all inspections to date and hopefully, come summer, we will become a reality. 

Right now I’m hard at work juggling work and learning the ropes of this new business.  I’ve been taking all sorts of classes this last year and right now I’m learning website development and this blogging thing.  I’ve been a clubwoman for many years and the skills I learned volunteering will come in handy.  I’ll be sharing these ideas and tips as we go along.  So, come back often and visit!
